Of all the 100 people who made the cut in the renowned Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World list for 2013, Nigeria sits proudly with a lone name that inspires belief in all who look for an icon. She is Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, the actress, singer, reality-show star, mother of four and philanthropist (the Omotola Youth Empowerment Programme).
Popularly referred to as Time 100, the list is divided into various categories – Titans, Pioneers, Leaders, Icons and Artists. Omotola was recognized in the Icon category.
Popularly called Omosexy by adoring fans, the 34-year old has been a regular in the world's most productive English-language film industry, Nollywood.
With a grace that borders on the ethereal, and a benign image that mandates belief, she is a diva for eternity, a queen in her right and the peerless epitome of all things beautiful. Featuring in excess of over 300 movies, she is married to an airline pilot who gave her a wedding of remarkable brilliance on a flight from Lagos to Benin.
But in all of this, humility and endearing modesty are her chief traits, and that is what has made her a darling for all time.
Congrats!
