So, here's someone to emulate –
Bode George, People's Democratic Party chieftain, yes the same one who
was convicted and sent to maximum security prison in 2009 for abuse of
office has now been announced winner of the Africa Leadership Awards.
George who is the former deputy National Chairman of the PDP was
picked by the All Africa Students Union (AASU) based on the
recommendation of the National Association of Nigerian students and
ratified by the executive council of AASU, a regional student
organisation with members across 54 Africancountries and headquarters
in Ghana.
According to its project coordinator, Geoge was selected for this
award – apparently the 15th edition – based on his "commitment to
youth development and his defense of democratic institutions" leading
him to join other past winners including the United Nation's former
secretary general, Kofi Annan, and George's former comrade, Olusegun
Obasanjo, amongst others.
The award will be presented to him, alongside a leadership lecture, on
December 12.
We believe another thanksgiving celebration is in order.
Isn't this the most stupid thing you've heard??
