I AM JUST A MAN

I am just a man.
I am but a mortal passing through life;
One who, like every other,
Has embedded in him dreams and aspirations.
I am your brother, son and friend.


I am just a man.
A man who dreams of the "better days"
And works towards its actualization.
I am me.
Actualizing my dreams in my own little way.
Doing it to the best of my ability.



I am just a man.
A man who craves for love
And wants to be loved in return.
I am that he who has only his
Loyal heart to give his Love.



I am just a man.
That man who tries to be the
Hero for those he cares about.
Not the costume-wearing one,
But that hero who touches lives
In his own little way.
Enriching, and living sweet memories.



I am just a man.
I have my own shortcomings.
I am definitely not perfect.
I get angry, jealous, bitter and envious.
I am he who tries to be strong
But cries when the need arises.



I am just a man.
I am an African; proudly so.
I am that African: a Nigerian
Who would stand up to be heard.
And resist corruption in whatever
Shape, color and size.
