Nigeria's former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, never ceases to
amaze. He can choose to be serious this minute while playing the
perfect comedian the very next minute.
At a recent event at the Government House of his home state, Ogun in
South-West Nigeria, the retired Army General and erstwhile Head of
State did not forget to turn up with his comdedian's apparel.
This became evident when a journalist attempted to photograph him.
Rather than allow the man have his way, the elder statesman and world
citizen sought to dodgethe camera lens by turning swiftly to grab a
young white man who was part of an international delegation on
investment drive to the Ogun State seat of power at Abeokuta.
It was as if he wanted the bemused "oyinbo" to back him the way
mothers back their children in Africa.
Unfortunately for OBJ, he still could not escape the lens of the
journalist, Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji. Dimeji celebrated his "conquest"
this morning on his Facebook wall, publishing the photo seen here with
the caption:
"COMEDIAN: Here I was trying to take pix of former President Olusegun
Obasanjo, but was equally trying to dodge my camera, to hide behind
this whiteman, forgetting that golden fish has no hiding place. At
last my camera caught up with OBJ."
