Crazy Olympian: Blood-Stained Cricket Bat Found By Police At Oscar Pistorius’ Home

The murder case filed against Olympic star Oscar Pistorius by the
South African police has taken a newturn as the police have found a
bloodied cricket bat at the home of Oscar Pistorius, a local newspaper
reported Sunday, following the Valentine's Day killing of his model
girlfriend.

The star Olympian and Paralympian athlete was charged on Friday with
the murder of 29-year-old Reeva Steenkamp who was shot dead at his
luxury Pretoria home, an incident Pistorius has denied was not
premeditated as suggested by the police.

Police sources close to the investigation told the independent City
Press newspaper that Steenkamp's skull had been "crushed".

"There was lots of blood on the bat,"one source told the paper.
Police are now investigating whetherthe bat was used to assault
Steenkamp, who was shot four timesin the early hours of Thursday, or
if she used it to defend herself.

Earlier suggestion Oscar Pistorius could have mistaken Steenkamp for
an intruder has been dismissed by the police. More so, City Press said
she was wearing a nightie at the time of the killing.

"The suspicion is that the first shot, in the bedroom, hit her in the
hip. She then ran and hid herself in the toilet… He fired three more
shots," a police source told City Press.

Oscar Pistorius, a double amputee became a national icon who
inspiredpeople around the world, and a sort of celebrity when he
became the first double amputee to compete against able-bodied
athletes at the London Olympics.

Pistorius who has been charged for murder is due to apply for bail at
a new court hearing on Tuesday, the same day a memorial service will
be held for his slain girlfriend.

Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamphave been dating since late last
year, and their relationship seemed perfect. Sources however say their
relationship wasn't as rosy as Reeva was presenting it to friends.

In fact, she had plans, according to the sources that she was going to
disclose some secrets about their relationship thought to be abuse of
some kind.

Pistorius faces a life sentence if convicted of premeditated murder,
as alleged by state prosecutors.

Although, more evidence rising against Pistorius is making it hard for
people who love him to still believe his innocence, his family
haveindicated that the star athlete, who broke down sobbing during his
initial court appearance on Friday, would plead not guilty, and they
will stand by him.

"We have no doubt there is no substance to the allegation and that the
state's own case, including its own forensic evidence, strongly
refutes any possibility of a premeditated murder or indeed any murder
at all," his uncle Arnold Pistorius said in a statement Saturday.

Goldie Harvey's last moments

When budding Hip-Hop artiste, Late
Goldie Harvey, left United States for
Nigeria earlier in the week little did she
know that that will be her
last international trip on earth.
According to eyewitness account, Goldie
arrived Lagos on Thursday afternoon
and headed for her Park View residence
in Ikoyi area of Lagos. On her wayhome,
she called her BFF Denrele Edun, whom
she was filming a reality TV show with,
to meet up with her at her flat.
On getting there, Denrele was said to
have noticed that she was not
looking or acting fine, but they all
thought it might have been as a result of
the long-mile trip to Los Angeles that
may be taking toll on her.
She was said to have complained of
headache, dizziness, and general body
weakness. At this point Denrele insisted
that she dresses up for a visit to the
hospital.
She was said to have slumped
while dressing up and all efforts to
revive the 31-year old entertainer
proved abortive. She was rushed to
Reddington Hospital on Victoria
Island and she was certified dead by the
doctors on duty as all CPR measures
conducted on her were of no effect.
According to the Hospital's information
unit, the artiste was "Brought In Dead"
around 7.15pm, and cause of her death
cannot be ascertained until an autopsy
is carried out.
Still in shock, Denrele was said to have
wept uncontrollably at the hospital
when the sad news was broken to him
that Goldie could not be revived. Goldie's
remains have been deposited at the
Lagos University Teaching Hospital
(LUTH) morgue while they await
confirmation from her immediate
family whether to conduct an autopsy
on her corpse.
But at the moment, her family, friends,
fans and the whole Nigerian
entertainment industry is still in a deep
shock as to what could have killed such
a talented star at the onset of a glorious
career. May her soul rest in peace.

Another Nollywood Actor cum Producer dies

In what has become like an evil wind
blowing across the entertainment
industry in Nigeria and just as Nigerians
are yet to come to terms with the death
of Goldie, popular Abuja based actor,
director and producer, Collins Ifeanyi
Chukwu is dead.
The artiste died yesterday at the
Maitama General Hospital after a brief
illness. He is survived by his young wife,
Blessing Collins, and little son, Doxa
Efechukwu Collins.
The news, which was confirmed
yesterday by the chairman of the guild in
Abuja, Agility Onwurah, has thrown the
Abuja chapter of AGN into mourning.
The usually boisterous Access Garden,
which is the official location of the
guild's activities, was full of tears and
wailings yesterday.
A call placed to his wife yesterday was
answered by her mother who said
Blessing Collins was not in the right
frame of mind to speak. The mother-in-
law however confirmed the sad news.
Doxa Efechukwu Collins, his sole heir,
was born on May 12, 2012, and was
dedicated on Sunday July 22 at the Christ
Chosen Church of God, Gwarimpa, Abuja,
after which his parents treated
entertainment practitioners to a lavish
ceremony at their Jikwoyi residence.
"It is quite unfortunate that the young
lady has been widowed at this early age
with such a little boy. This is a big loss,
not only to the family, but to the
entertainment industry in Abuja," Frank
White, chairman of the Producers Guild
of Nigeria, Abuja Chapter lamented.
The late Collins had a knack for
producing gospel movies and has to his
credit The Burning Flames, el-Gibor, Back
to Bethel, and was before his death,
working on another blockbuster.
He is one of the very successful Abuja
based entertainers who have been able
to prove that you don't have to be in
Lagos to make it in the industry.
Until his death, he was the PRO elect of
the Actors guild of Nigeria, AGN, Abuja
chapter.

Two Lovers Drown On Valentine’s Day In Asaba

Tragedy struck, yesterday, in Asaba, Delta State when two
loversreportedly drowned in a swimmingpool of a popular Hotel.
Sources claimed that the said hotel (name withheld) has been a base
for love birds during festive periods especially Christmas and New
Year.

We reliably gathered that the 'love birds' had resolved in the early
hours of the day to swim after drinking at the hotel's pool side,
against his mother's advice.

It was gathered that the boy, a highlyplaced, "Asaba yuppee" had been
having problems with his step mother who allegedly placed a death
curse on him.

But his friends who disagreed with the story said he died on deaf ears.

While they were at the hotel, our informed sources said they both
dived into the pool and soon after started shouting for help to no
avail.
